Will the gender inequality gap be reduced in 2018?

The disparity in gender equality continues according to this year's Women in the Workplace report from McKinsey; based on a survey completed by circa 200 companies. It highlights that women are facing continued slow career development and fewer promotions with even further obstacles for women of colour. "Nearly 50% of men think women are well represented in company leadership at organizations where only 10% of senior executives are women"

Women account for 47% of entry-level employees, but only one-third of senior managers and one-fifth of c-suite executives. For women of color, the drop-off is even steeper. Women of color hold 17% of entry-level positions, but just 8% of senior manager jobs and 3% of c-suite roles.
