On the day that the hospitality sector opens it's doors on the inside once again, the economic and social impact on the sector will hopefully come to an end. It has been clear that Real Estate Investors have had their hands full over the past 18 months, in particular those with large exposures to Commercial/Retail assets. Equally, there has been an acceleration towards the logistics sector as E-Commerce players keep apace with ever changing social habits. Whilst Real Estate Private Equity firms are continuing to add sector focused investment capability, there is an on-going interest in building Infrastructure Investment teams to offer their clients diversified capabilities. There is continued cross-over between the asset classes in-particular in social infrastructure/elderly care. My guess is that we will see more cohesion between the sectors as the quest for yield continues...
