Climate change and tech behind increased allocations to infrastructure

Interesting article  relating to recent discussions from the IPE Real Assets & Infrastructure Conference which reiterates the common theme that Infrastructure Investment continues its momentum for institutional investors. This is against the backdrop of rising interest rates and volatile markers. The growing experience of investors in the asset class has not only increased investor confidence, but also assisted in fundraising targets being at an all-time high and pension funds increasing their allocation to infrastructure progressively over the last few years.

The widespread move into infrastructure markets by institutional investors in recent years will prove to have been a permanent, structural shift, rather than a cyclical reaction to low interest rates. This was one of the key messages reiterated at this year’s IPE Real Assets & Infrastructure Conference this week.
