Is the pay gap in listed companies too high?

As stated by the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association; 86% of UK Pension Funds believe that Executive pay is too high and 84% have concerns regarding the pay gap in listed companies. Hence, the UK Government would like listed companies to annually report the the ratio of CEO pay to the average pay of their UK Workforce.

The government has developed nine main reform proposals across three aspects of corporate governance: executive pay; the employee, customer and supplier “voice”; and corporate governance in large private businesses.
