'Sell Side' strain shows no sign of easing

 

With onerous capital requirements, increased regulatory and public scrutiny and the emergence of non traditional competitors, Investment Banks are continuing to find it tough going. Ongoing hiring experience suggests that, providing cultural fit is sound, Investment Managers could prove to be a welcome beneficiary, 

 

The world’s biggest investment banks have slashed the number of traders and top dealmakers in the past five years, as new figures show the full extent of the bloodbath in the once prosperous sector. Just 54,800 staff are employed across the front offices of the top 12 banks, down from 69,100 in 2011, according to figures compiled by data firm Coalition – a fall of 21pc.
